October 2021 Course Update (6)

Updated: Jul 17, 2023

Hey there! We hope you had fun this Halloween and managed to snatch all the good sweets (just leave candy corn for the kids - they'll eat anything 😉).

So getting back to business… We're receiving so much interest in the course and many kind-hearted messages from you guys. THANK YOU. We're so glad you enjoy seeing what we're doing, and would love to give you some more info on the progress inside this month's newsletter.

CINEMATIC

In preparation for the upcoming Kickstarter campaign, we are working on a cinematic video showcasing our rigs, sets, props, voice actors (who will be preparing lots of fun lines for you to animate to), and of course, our own skills and abilities. Getting this animation done has been taking most of our focus but it's shaping up nicely!

Here is a little sneak-peek of a non-rendered frame to give you a taste of what you can look forward to in December!

INSTRUCTOR INFO ON THE WEBSITE!

Many of you have been asking to know more about us and we're happy to finally have a page dedicated to introducing ourselves to you. Check it out to see our reels, read up on our animation background and find out what we're all about!

TOAnimate PICKER

The development of the Blender animation picker is progressing at a steady pace and we're at the debugging stage. Beta version will be ready soon and offered to Kickstarter supporters before it gets released to the public. We hope that this tool fills in the gap for Blender animators and helps streamline their workflow!

LESSONS

We're now recording and editing all Blender Basics lessons and redesigning the handbooks so they're even more visually appealing and easy to read at a first glance!

Soon we'll be posting the curriculum for the Blender Basics course on our website. You'll be able to see what exactly you'll be learning and give us any suggestions for more lessons you'd like to see!

THE GREAT SUCCESS OF

‘Maya and the Three’

As you may know, Maya came out on Netflix on October 22. Despite its name, the show was done entirely in Blender (confusing, right?). We animated for this series for over 1.5 years, which helped us learn a lot about the software and we're (almost) ready to share the knowledge with you!

Maya and the Three is currently No.1 on Netflix in KIDS category in several countries, and in top 10 overall, which is spectacular! If you haven't seen it yet, you definitely should! And get some tissues ready because it gets pretty intense and emotional as the series progresses :').

WHAT’S NEXT

The final stretch before the launch is coming up and we'll be doing more of the same - animating, recording and editing, creating visuals and posting info on the website to have everything ready for you once the Kickstarter launches. In the meantime, don't hesitate to contact us through the website or at info.toanimate@gmail.com if you have any specific questions and we'll get back to you asap!

IF YOU’RE NEW HERE

If this is your first newsletter, hello and welcome! We appreciate your interest in our course and hope to provide lots of value and support on your animation journey. This includes a quick animation tip that you’ll receive in the middle of each month. Last month’s infographic looked like this:

That’s it from us, we look forward to connecting with you again soon!

With love,

TOAnimate Team.
